You're pretty - Oddball Art

Saturday, March 28, 2020 No comments
Hi.
Welcome to another guest designer card for Oddball Art. This time I used the super pretty Noora (image no. 244) and I actually made a video of the whole process. Yikes! I'm not talking though... Not quite there yet...

This is the first video I made not using only images. It's not perfect but I really enjoyed it so hopefully I'll make more and get better at it. Please watch it and also please comment  with what you think.

Sparkle - Oddball Art

Monday, March 16, 2020 1 comment
Hi..
I'm so happy to tell you that I'm a guest designer for March with Oddball Art. I'm so happy to be asked by Lizzy. I was on the design team a few years back and I still love these images with all my heart.

Today I.m making a card made with Oddball Art image #109, Kawaii Maddie n friends go back to school. When you get it you recieve two images, like the picture below. One is serious Maddie and one is a bit happier. For this card I chose Happy Maddie :-)

I started by making a background for my card. I really like using distress inks on acrylic blocks for a super pretty effect. You dab the inkpad on an acrylic block, spritz some water on it and plant it on your background paper. Lift it up and dry off the block. At this point I usually move the paper around a little bit before leaving it to dry. Sometimes I use my heat gun, if I need it to dry faster.

I used the same ink pad and do the whole thing over again and let it dry... again... Of course you can use different colors. Check out my card here and here for examples.

I stamped and embossed my sentiment with a pretty sparkly embossing powder that I've had in my craft stash for I don't know how many years :-) The sentiment is from a stamp set by Taylored Expressions. It's called "Be a unicorn".

It's time to color Maddie. I started of by using watercolor paint but switched to my ZIG Clean Color Brush pens. The first time I used them with water but re-did everything without water. Yup, Maddie was on my desk without colors 3 times... But I'm happy with how she turned out.

I fussy cut her and glued her to my pink distressed paper. A also used some sparkly paper for a frame and her spilling sparkles :-)

And... since it was Leap Day when I finished the card I decided to stamp the back with a date stamp (I usually never put dates on my cards.)

Anything Goes at Paper Smooches - #3

Monday, September 19, 2016 1 comment
Ok. Just one more ;-) Here is my third, and last, card for the Anything Goes challenge over at Paper Smooches.

I'm in love with these flowers. The Adorable Array die is so beautiful!

For this card I die cut the flowers out of a distress inked watercolor paper. And again on a plain white one. It's some tiny paper pieceing to put everything back inside the die bit I think it turned out great.

I used the same distress inks for the papers behind the flower and the sentiment to make it all match. The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches "Best Buds" stamp set,

Dimension & Bling

I'm on a roll ;-) I've made so many cards recently and it feels great!

Today I'm playing over at Cas-ual Fridays and their challenge #156:

I used stamps from the Cas-ual Fridays stamp set Ka-Boom. I think it's so fun :-)
I made a background on watercolor paper with distress inks and cut out a square in the middle. I then turned that piece one time to add even more dimension to the card. I stamped the image and sentiment and added some black/gold Wink of Stella to the bomb.

The middle piece is attached with 3D squares on top of the sparkly background so that the gold shows around the edges.

Totally Rad! - with Pretty Cute Stamps

Tuesday, August 30, 2016 No comments
Today I'm blogging for PCS and I'm showing a CAS card made with clear stamps from the awesome set "Totally Rad". I just love it!

I started by stamping the glasses with a pink distress ink on watercolor paper. Then I spritzed water on it and let it spread and run down the paper. When it was completely dry I stamped the glasses again but this time with black archival ink and on top of the previous stamping. The sentiment was perfect for the image and I hade some black and white striped paper for the background. Quick and easy but still kind of cool :-)

Have a lovely day and don't forget to shop Pretty Cute Stamps ♥

Hello

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 5 comments
Idag lyser solen.

Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

The sun is shining today. It's warm outside. Pollen everywhere. That's when I'm indoors... I don't mind really since I like rainy days more than sunny ones (but that is something you're almost not allowed to do ;-) ).

Anyway, the day resulted in a shaker card. The background is painted with distress inks. The "hello" die is from My Favorite Things and the eye catching sequin mix that is moving around in the back is called "Disco Lights" is from Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

My studies have taken up alot of my time latey and the blog had to take a step (or five) back. I will try to gather the cards I've made in this past month into a few posts.

I wish You a very nice Easter holiday :-)

The first card I want to show you as one I made for a friend of my brother. She turned 30 and got a tattoo as a gift. I thought that a stamp from Bombshell Stamps was just what a card like that needed :-) I wrote her name by hand.

I made the next card for my nephew on his 18th birthday. The text stamps are from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and the background is made with distress inks :-)
